Lakeland Communications, a growing, fiscally strong telecommunications company, is seeking a motivated and team-oriented Accountant. This accounting position will report directly to the General Manager and will oversee all financial and regulatory activities of Lakeland Communications, including but not limited to operating and capital budgets, financial statements, tax and regulatory reporting, payroll, internal control/auditing functions, working with independent auditors, forecasts, investment analysis, acquisition analysis, HR benefits administrations and preparation of Board financial package.

Successful candidates will be creative, strategy-oriented, and analytical while possessing knowledge of all aspects of accounting and financial analysis and reporting.  Experience in regulatory environments, with exposure to the FCC and state regulatory agencies, is preferred, but willing to train an individual with the right fit.   A bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Finance, and experience in management roles is essential. CPA not required but would be considered a plus.

We are seeking a skilled Utility Locator/Broadband Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for locating activities by operating mechanical/technical equipment to accurately identify and mark underground facilities such as fiber-optic and cable television lines for customers within a specified geographic area. The ideal candidate will also be responsible for completing outside plant activities such as fiber splicing, and installing fiber optic lines by operating machinery like a fiber plow.


-Locate Lakeland Communications fiber-optic and cable modem HFC network.
-Install fiber-optic lines
– Conduct regular maintenance on existing broadband systems
– Collaborate with customers to ensure satisfaction with services provided
– Document all work performed accurately and timely


– Experience a plus in utility locating and cabling
– Proficiency in service technician duties
– Knowledge of backhoe operation for infrastructure work
– Field service experience in broadband or related field
– Ability to read and interpret blueprints for network layout
– Familiarity with land surveying techniques for installation purposes
– Skill in operating equipment for material handling
