To avoid a disruption of home voice service during a power outage, Lakeland Communications can offer you the option of purchasing an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS), or you can choose to supply your own. Installing a UPS will allow you to continue to use your home voice services during a power outage. To obtain a 24-hour runtime, you would need a 60-amp hour battery backup. When installing and maintaining your UPS, be sure to follow all manufacturer recommendations for proper installation and testing. Lakeland does not offer any extended warranty on a UPS purchased directly from us, all warranty claims will be subject to the manufacturer’s warranty terms and conditions. Without a backup battery or alternate backup source such as a generator, customers will not be able to make any calls, including emergency calls to 911 during a power outage.
